We stopped in Mound City on the way to eat at John Boy's Family Restaurant. Good food! Farmer fare, and a really nice owner. And tractors out back!! :)
We settled into our hotel right by the Country Club Plaza, then went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. Had some good Hawaiian pizza, salad, and some iced green tea that ended up keeping me up till 3am. :) But it was good. We then walked around the Plaza some, stopping at Cold Stone for ice cream (vanilla with M&M's), listening to a trumpet player, having a balloon motorcycle made by a nice lady, and then going to Barnes and Noble to buy Nathan The Poky Little Puppy, The Wheels on the Bus, and Five Little Monkeys. He played with their Thomas train set for a long time there.
Back to the hotel to get ready for bed, but the adjoining rooms were too much fun and Nathan kept running back and forth between rooms saying "Guess what? I made you a picture!" and drawing all of us pictures. :) He eventually settled down and we all got some sleep.
The next day we ate breakfast at the hotel, hung out by the pool a bit (too cold to swim), then packed up to head to Fritz's, a very cool restaurant where a train brings you your food!
After lunch we drove around so Nathan could take his nap, and we went to Dean & Deluca (got some nice black tea there) and Mardel, where we had a lot of fun! Nathan had fun playing with Grandpa and Aunt Lenora while Mommy looked at books. We all found some good CDs and books to buy there and it was a fun, long stop. Afterwards, we ate a little snack in the car and headed out of town, stopping at Panera on the way home. Home by 10:30pm, so not bad at all. Nathan fell asleep around 10pm and stayed asleep when Grandpa carried him upstairs to bed. Very wonderful trip!! Can't wait to go again. Nathan loved Kansas City. :)
